As per reports, a low-pressure system is expected to dominate Austria’s weather from Friday (28 March) onward, which may lead to rainfall, strong winds, and snowfall at higher altitudes until Tuesday (01 April).
• On Friday (28 March), the system may primarily impact the southeast, while western Austria is expeecteed to experience relatively stable weather. Dense cloud cover and light rainfall may extend to the Lungau region and the Salzkammergut, accompanied by a strengthening northerly wind along the Eastern Alps.
• On Saturday (29 March), a low-pressure system over the Adriatic Sea is expected to leadrainfall across Eastern Alps. The snow line may drop to approximately 1,600 meters from the north. By evening, rainfall is expected to shift toward the northern flank of the Alps, while strong westerly and northwesterly winds may develop along the main Alpine ridge.
• On Sunday (30 March), heavy rainfall is expected to affect regions from Vorarlberg to Mostviertel. The snow line may be between 1,200 and 1,500 meters. Rainfall is expected to gradually ease as the day progresses, but cloud cover may return from the northwest by evening. Strong winds may persist in the north and foehn valleys.
• On Tuessday (01 April), a strong northerly wind is expected to impact Austria, leading to repeated rainfall and snowfall, particularly on the northern slopes of the Alps. The snow line may range from 500 to 1,000 meters from east to west.
