The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has reported a 4.7 magnitude earthquake at about 1434 hours (local time) on Saturday (28 March), with its epicentre depth at about 10 kilometres, located in the adjacent sea of Miyakojima Island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

Light shaking of seismic intensity 01 was observed in Miyakojima City, with no reports of stronger impacts in surrounding areas.
