38 killed in an attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday (21 November)

As per reports, on Thursday (21 November), a gun attack on passenger vans in the Ochat area of Lower Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), resulted in the deaths of 38 people and injuries to 30 others. The attack targeted two convoys of Shia community members, each comprising 40 vehicles traveling under police escort. The assailants ambushed the convoy after first attacking the police, firing from both sides.

In response, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has ordered local authorities to establish a provincial highways police force for enhanced security, and also to visit the site and reactivate the jirga system for dispute resolution.
