As per reports, police across Gujarat launched a large-scale operation and detained 1,024 suspected illegal Bangladeshi immigrants as of Sunday (27 April), following the terror attack in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam.

The majority were detained from Ahmedabad (890) and Surat (134), with further detentions reported from Rajkot and Vadodara. The operation was carried out in coordination with the Crime Branch, Special Operations Group, Economic Offences Wing, and local police forces.
