Description:

As per reports, a spot-sized wildfire, known as the Owl Creek FSR fire occurred approximately five kilometres east of Sicamous, British Columbia on Monday (04 August) afternoon.

• The BC Wildfire Service responded promptly with initial attack crews and support personnel, and as of the latest update, the fire is classified as being held, indicating that it is not expected to spread beyond existing boundaries under current conditions.
• The fire is suspected to have been caused by lightning.

• Fire response operations may result in temporary closures or restricted access along the Owl Creek Forest Service Road (FSR) and surrounding forestry routes, affecting logging, recreational traffic, and outdoor work crews operating in the area.
