As per reports, protesters gathered outside the Honeymoon Island State Park on Tuesday (27 August) afternoon to oppose the plans for the construction of recreational facilities like pickleball courts, disc golf courses and even hotels built at a batch of state parks.

• Public meetings related to the proposals at several state parks from the Department of Environmental Protection were initially scheduled for Tuesday (27 August) but were postponed after the public protests.
• In light of the situation, the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber has created a petition that urges Florida residents to contact their local representatives to address any concerns about the proposed changes.
