As per reports, Costa Rica is currently experiencing a surge in malaria cases, with 50 individuals confirmed to have tested positive for the disease on Wednesday (06 March).
• The Ministry of Health has identified 10 active outbreaks of malaria, situated in specific regions including Boca Arenal and Crucitas in San Carlos, Río Cuarto in Alajuela, Matina in Limón, and Quepos and Uvita in Puntarenas.
• Additionally, six imported cases of malaria have been reported this year, attributed to the migratory route through the El Darien jungle in Panama, according to health authorities.
