As per reports, David Mascort, the Minister of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat, scheduled a meeting with the Pagesa Platform at 1100 hours (local time) on Thursday (29 February) at the Ministry in Barcelona.
Blockades from Wednesday (28 February ) will me maintained on Thursday (29 February) at AP-7 Borrassà-Vilademuls, N-II Báscara -Vilamalla, C-31a Ventalló, C-38 Coll d’Ares, N-152 Puigcerdà, Vías cortadas en Lleida, AP-2 límite Aragón-Lleida, A-2 Tárrega, C-14 Tàrrega, Puentes y Bassella, N-230/N-260 Les Bordes (Pont de Suert), and L-303 Planes de Sión.
• The protest intensified in Soses (Lleida) with the arrival of more farmers and tractors from Tarragona, blockading the A-2 and AP-2.
• Approximately 300 farmers from Girona, currently stationed at the AP-7 intersection in Pontós (Alt Empordà), escalated their protest by placing a ten-meter pine tree in the middle of the northbound lane of the highway. They have used machinery to create a hole in the asphalt for this purpose.
• The meeting held by David Mascort concluded around 1520 hours (local time). It was attended by members of the department’s management and representatives of farmers, Unió de Pagesos, Joves Agricultors i Ramaders de Catalunya (JARC), Federació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya (FCAC), and the Revolta Pagesa platform.
