As per reports, unionized employees represented by Ver. di union have issued a nationwide strike action scheduled until 1400 hours (local time) on Friday (01 March).

Services of buses, trams, and underground trains will be impacted affecting Berlin, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Rhineland-Palatinate.

• In Berlin and Brandenburg, all local transport services, with the exception of a few lines run by private providers, will be suspended. The S-Bahn and regional trains are not affected by the strike action and are expected to increase their frequency.
• In Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate private and municipal transport companies are striking at the same time. Cities affected the most are Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Freiburg, Baden-Baden, Esslingen and Konstanz.
• Ferries between Konstanz and Meersburg are cancelled. However, passenger ships are commissioned as a replacement service, limited to pedestrians and cyclists only.
• In Mainz all interurban transport in the Palatinate, Hunsrück, Westerwald and Southern Palatinate are affected.
• In North Rhine-Westphalia almost all major local public transport companies such as KVB (Cologne), Rheinbahn (Düsseldorf), DSW21 (Dortmund), Stadtwerke Münster and moBiel (Bielefeld) are on strike. However, buses operated by private subcontractors will be operating on select routes only.
• Similarly, in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony, transportation services are restricted to a limited number of buses operated by private subcontractors. All public buses and trains will non-operational.
