3.9 magnitude earthquake recorded in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday (04 January)

According to the National Centre of Seismology, an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in Jammu and Kashmir at approximately 0038 hours of Thursday (04 January).

The earthquake occurred five kilometers below the surface, in the district of Kishtwar, close to the border with Ladakh. While limited weak shaking was reported in certain places, no damage to property or casualties were reported.
