The pelting of stones and damage to the place of worship was reported. 16 people were injured. The Commissioner stated that the prohibitory orders were imposed to prevent danger to human life and safety, prevent disturbance of public tranquility, and prevent the occurrence of riot or obstruction to any person in his lawful discharge of duty.
