Risk level: Low Country: Bosnia and Herzegovina

As per reports, the Mine Union to ‘Avaz’, approximately 150 miners from RMU Zenica have announced a protest rally in front of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Government headquarters on Wednesday (02 September).

• Reports indicate that the protest is scheduled to run on Wednesday (02 September) from 1100 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) to 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC).
• Reports state that the miners are owed three months of salaries (covering May, June, and July) amid the ongoing closure process of RMU Zenica.
• The miners are particularly dissatisfied with statements by federal officials suggesting that they are no longer working, saying they remain engaged in inspection duties across all shifts at the methane-heavy mine, which they say cannot be left unattended.
