The Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has maintained the Yellow High Temperature Warning and Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 01 for Thursday (02 July).
According to the forecast, very hot weather is expected across Macau under the influence of an upper-level anticyclone, while a tropical depression over the central South China Sea is expected to gradually intensify over the coming days.
• Weather conditions are forecast to remain hot and cloudy with occasional sunny periods and a few rainfall showers on Thursday (02 July). Easterly to southeasterly winds of Force 04 to 05 with gusts are expected.
• Temperatures are forecast to range between 27 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius, with temperatures potentially one to two degrees Celsius higher in urban areas. Relative humidity is expected to range between 70 percent and 95 percent.
• Moreover, Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 01 remains in force and is expected to stay in effect during the daytime on Thursday (02 July). There is a medium probability of Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 03 being issued between midnight and the morning hours of Friday (03 July), while the likelihood of a Blue Storm Surge Warning remains low.
• On Friday (03 July), a few showers, becoming more frequent later with a few thunderstorms. Easterly to southeasterly winds of Force 05 to 06 with gusts are forecast, with temperatures ranging between 25 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.
• The tropical depression over the south-central South China Sea is forecast to gradually intensify and move towards the area between Hainan Island and the Beibu Gulf by Friday (03 July), bringing frequent showers, occasional thunderstorms, stronger winds, and continued unsettled weather into early and mid-next week.
