As per reports, the Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled Village Women Council elections across Uganda on Thursday (23 July).
• Polling is expected to take place in villages nationwide as part of the 2026 Administrative Units and Women Councils and Committees electoral programme.
• Reportedly, polling is scheduled from 0700 hours local time (0400 hours UTC) to 1600 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) at public polling locations within villages.
• Voting will be conducted by lining behind nominated candidates, their representatives, portraits or symbols.
• Reports indicate Village Local Council I (LC I) Chairperson campaigns are scheduled to continue until Monday (27 July).
• Campaign meetings are permitted only between 0700 hours local time (0400 hours UTC) and 1800 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) within each candidate’s respective village.
