As per reports, a Winter Storm Watch is in place for the Grapevine and Tejon Pass section of Interstate 5 (I-5), with a multi-day storm pattern expected to bring periods of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and snowfall at pass level from late Sunday (15 February) through Wednesday (18 February).

• The National Weather Service (NWS) Hanford technical briefing indicates the Winter Storm Watch timeframe as 2200 hours local time (0600 hours UTC, 16 February) on Sunday (15 February) to 2200 hours local time (0600 hours UTC, 19 February) on Wednesday (18 February) and highlights elevated probabilities of accumulating snow along Tejon Pass during the watch period.
• For the Grapevine (CAZ335) zone, NWS forecast guidance indicates widespread precipitation, with winds gusting to around 40 miles per hour, and a transition toward rain with a chance of snowfall, which may increase hazardous driving conditions on high-elevation corridors.
• Affected locations include Tejon Pass, the I-5 Grapevine corridor between Gorman and Lebec, Fort Tejon, Pyramid Lake area, Frazier Park, Tehachapi Pass (CA-58), Tehachapi city, Kern County mountain communities, and parts of the Antelope Valley including Palmdale and Lancaster in California.
