As per reports, fire authorities have extinguished all remaining embers by around 1500 hours (local time) on Thursday (26 March) by deploying fire trucks designed for high-rise buildings to the generator and hub sections of the Yeongdeok Wind Turbine, located 80 meters above the ground.
This comes approximately 74 hours after the fire broke out at around 1311 hours (local time) on Monday (23 March).
• With the fire now extinguished, the police and fire authorities plan to discuss demolition and forensic investigation measures.
• On the morning of Thursday (26 March), a piece of the blade separated from the main body and fell to the ground, causing the fire inside to spread to the surrounding area, which was extinguished by the fire department.
