West Bengal legislator Humayun Kabir announces construction of “new Babri Masjid” in Murshidabad on Wednesday (11 February)

As per reports, West Bengal legislator Humayun Kabir reportedly stated in a press conference on Tuesday (10 February) that he will lay the foundation for a “new Babri Masjid” (mosque based on former Ayodhya Babri Masjid) in Murshidabad on Wednesday (11 February).

Following are the details:

• Humayun Kabir announced that construction of the new Babri Masjid will begin at Beladanga, Murshidabad at noon on Wednesday (11 February).
• He announced a foundation stone laying ceremony, with around 5,000 people are expected to attend the programme. The event will begin in the morning with Quran recitation, followed by the formal commencement of construction work at noon.
• He stated that prominent members of the Muslim community, including those from non-political religious bodies, will participate in the programme, along with members his Janata Unnayan Party (JUP).
• Amid ongoing investigations against Humayun Kabir and his expulsion from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), it is unknown whether requisite authorities have given permission for the event, or for the mosque construction.
