The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms in parts of Thailand on Tuesday (25 February). A moderate to rather strong high-pressure system covers the Northeast and the South China Sea leading the southerly and southeasterly winds to bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country. At the same time, the westerly trough from Myanmar will move through the North and the upper Northeast.

Thunderstorms, gusty wind, and hail including lightning strikes are likely in some areas of the upper country while hail is likely in the North and the Northeast regions.

• Northern: Morning cool. Scattered thunderstorms with gusts and hail mostly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun.
• Northeastern: Morning cool. Scattered thunderstorms with gusts mostly in Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, and Khon Kaen.
• Central: Scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Suphanburi, and Kanchanaburi.
• Eastern: Scattered thundershowers with gust in Nakhon Nayok, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
• Southern (East Coast): Fairly widespread thundershowers and scattered heavy to isolated very heavy rain in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
• Southern (West Coast): Fairly widespread thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
• Bangkok Metropolitan: Scattered thundershowers are likely. The minimum temperature will be 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperature will range between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. Easterly winds 10 to 30 kilometers per hour.
