As per reports, a surge of frigid Arctic air (a piece of the polar vortex) is forecast to move into New England on Thursday (04 December), bringing sharp temperature drops, strong wind gusts, and fast-moving snow squalls.

• The weather events are concentrated on Thursday (04 December). Snow squalls are expected in Southern New England between 1300 hours and 1900 hours (local time).
• These are quick-hitting, intense bursts of snow that cause the sky to darken and rapidly create slick and dangerous roads despite low accumulation.
• Wind chill is expected to be in the teens by late afternoon in Boston, plunging to near 0 degrees overnight Thursday (04 December).
