As per reports, the Mexico City Civil Protection Agency (SGIRPC) has activated orange and yellow alerts for intense cold conditions across parts of Mexico City due to the arrival of a new cold front entering northeastern Mexico in the early hours of Thursday (18 December).
• Temperatures as low as one degree Celsius are forecast, accompanied by frost and fog banks in several areas. The orange alert has been activated for the Tlalpan borough, where temperatures are expected to range between one and three degrees Celsius, with frost formation likely. This alert is valid until 0900 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) on Thursday (18 December).
• Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for the boroughs of Milpa Alta and Xochimilco, where temperatures between four and six degrees Celsius are forecast until 0900 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) on Thursday (18 December).
• Weather conditions are forecast to improve during the afternoon on Thursday (18 December), becoming mild with partly cloudy skies. However, isolated rainfall remains possible in both Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
