As per reports, the water tanker operators’ strike in Pune has been called off on Thursday (16 April) following mediation by civic authorities. The details are as follows:
• The Water Tanker Owners Association confirmed that an agreement was reached after intervention by Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure. As part of the understanding, the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) has directed officials to refrain from taking punitive action against tanker vehicles for 15 days.
• In parallel, the Pune Municipal Corporation withdrew its earlier decision to suspend water supply across the city for maintenance work, which had been scheduled for the same day. The planned shutdown, intended for electrical, pumping, and civil works at multiple facilities, was postponed to avoid disruption amid tanker dependency. Authorities have confirmed that regular water supply will continue across Pune.
