As per reports, ongoing water main break repair efforts are continuing into a second day in Walnut Creek, affecting traffic patterns, lane availability, and some nearby services as of Friday (09 January).

• A major water main break occurred on Ygnacio Valley Road, near the intersection with Locust Street, prompting emergency repair work that began on Thursday (08 January) and has now continued for a second day.
• Repair operations are being coordinated by East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) crews, requiring extended lane closures on Ygnacio Valley Road and adjacent routes to allow safe excavation, pipe replacement, and system testing.
• The closure and traffic management measures include partial closures of the eastbound lanes of Ygnacio Valley Road and associated turning movements, with traffic redirected or merged into available lanes.
