According to reports, volcanic eruptions took place in Lumajang Regency , East Java and Halmahera Regency, North Maluku on Monday morning (07 April).
• Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency , East Java erupted at 0541 hours. The Semeru Volcano Observation Post (PPGA) on Mount Sawur reported that the eruption occurred with a thick ash column 800 meters high above the crater peak heading north.
• Head of Emergency and Logistics for the Regional Disaster Management Agency ( BPBD ) of Lumajang Regency stated that currently the activity status of Mount Semeru is at level II or alert.
• Mount Dukono located in North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku erupted at 0755 WIT. The Dukono Volcano Observation Post (PGA) observed that the height of the ash column reached 2,300 meters above the peak, or equivalent to 3,387 meters above sea level (masl).
• Its status is still at level II or Alert.
