As per reports, the Washington Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) issued an advisory for the Sangay volcano in Ecuador on Wednesday (17 September).
• Volcanic ash emissions were observed reaching altitudes of up to 6,100 meters (20,000 feet) above sea level, drifting west and northwest of the volcano.
• The emissions were detected through satellite imagery and ground monitoring during morning hours around 0700 hours local time (1200 hours UTC).
