As per reports, Venezuelan aeronautical authorities have extended temporary restrictions on international general aviation (private and non-scheduled international flights) until 1959 hours local time (2359 hours UTC) on 09 July through NOTAM A0291/26, effective from Thursday (02 July).
• Under the measure, private, executive, and other non-regular international flights may only enter, depart from, or overfly the Maiquetía Flight Information Region (FIR) with prior authorization from the national aeronautical authority. The restriction applies to Venezuelan-controlled airspace and is not limited to Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS/SVMI).
• Scheduled commercial passenger services, cargo operations, humanitarian flights, and official government flights are not covered by the NOTAM. However, commercial operations at Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS/SVMI) remain suspended following earthquake-related damage to airport infrastructure.
• International commercial services continue to operate through Arturo Michelena International Airport (VLN/SVVA) in Valencia, where several international and domestic carriers have temporarily relocated operations.
• Authorities stated that the restrictions support ongoing emergency response efforts following the earthquakes of 24 June, with priority given to humanitarian, military, and essential logistical flights. The NOTAM may be amended or extended depending on operational requirements.
