As per reports, the Ahmedabad City Police announced restrictions on the movement of heavy and medium-sized vehicles on Shastri Bridge, Ahmedabad, effective from 0000 hours (local time) on Monday (09 February). The restrictions will remain in force until 2400 hours (local time) on Friday (08 January 2027).
• The measures have been implemented to facilitate repair works on bridge bearings and pedestals along the Pirana Junction–Vishala Junction stretch. Heavy and medium goods vehicles, along with passenger vehicles, are prohibited from using the bridge during this period.
• Traffic has been diverted via alternative routes, including Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Bridge (Baherampura), with diversions notified for vehicles travelling between Pirana, Vishala, Lambha, Juhapura, Sarkhej, and Jashodanagar.
