Vehicle catches fire in Delhi on Thursday (07 May); no casualties reported

According to reports, a fire incident occurred in a Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS) ambulance of Safdarjung Hospital, which was returning to the hospital on Thursday evening (07 May).

• The fire erupted at around 1920 hours (local time), when it reached near the Moti Bagh flyover from Dhaula Kuan.
• The fire erupted due to a short circuit in the conductor side seat. The driver parked the ambulance and the flames suddenly spread, causing one oxygen cylinder inside the vehicle to explode.
• During the time of the fire, the ambulance was empty and no injuries were recorded. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the flames were doused.
• According to sources, the road is now open and vehicular movement is normal.
