As per reports, multiple weather conditions are forecast across the US between Thursday (12 March) and Friday (13 March).
• On Thursday (12 March), the cold front is moving east toward the Atlantic coast across Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, with thunderstorms continuing early in the day especially in southern Mid-Atlantic and southeastern states before gradually ending.
• Thunderstorms are expected to persist longer across Florida on Thursday (12 March) than other eastern states, even after the cold front moves offshore.
• Colder air moving behind the front is bringing snowfall and icy conditions on Thursday (12 March) across Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, with snowfall accumulation most likely in northern Michigan and northern Maine, while parts of northern New England may experience light ice buildup on roads and surfaces.
• A fast-moving weather system is expected to bring strong winds and winter weather, including snowfall and blowing snowfall, across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana on Thursday (12 March).
• This system is also expected to bring moderate to heavy snowfall on Thursday (12 March) across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, especially across the Upper Great Lakes region.
• On Thursday (12 March), warm and dry winds are creating high wildfire risk conditions across Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, especially in open grassland areas.
• Heavy rainfall in low-lying areas and significant snowfall in the mountains are expected to continue on Thursday (12 March) across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana as moisture from the Pacific Ocean moves inland.
• Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall may cause isolated flooding in low-lying areas of Washington and Oregon on Thursday (12 March).
• The Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges in Washington and Oregon are expected to receive very heavy snowfall and strong winds on Thursday (12 March), creating blizzard-like conditions in higher elevations.
• On Friday (13 March), snowfall from the earlier weather system is expected to continue moving eastward across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, and South Dakota, with some areas likely to experience moderate to heavy snowfall and strong winds.
• Snowfall from the same system is expected to spread into New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine on Friday (13 March), bringing winter weather conditions and possible travel disruptions.
• Rainfall and mountain snowfall are expected to continue on Friday (13 March) across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana due to multiple incoming weather systems, keeping the region unsettled.
