• Heavy lake-effect snowfall is expected for Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, with snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour.
• A major winter storm is forecast for Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois, bringing six to 12 or more inches of snow and gusty winds.
• A mix of rainfall, thunderstorms, and wintry weather is likely from Texas and Louisiana through the Ohio Valley, affecting states including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New England.
• Well-below-average temperatures are expected across the Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Central Plains.
