As per reports, a major wildfire is actively spreading in the province of Ávila, west of Madrid, Spain, specifically impacting areas including Cuevas del Valle, El Arenal, and Mombeltrán as of Wednesday (30 July).

• Igniting on Monday (28 July), the wildfire has necessitated the evacuation of residents and led to advisories for others to remain indoors due to heavy smoke.
• Thousands of firefighters, military units, and aerial resources are battling the intense fire, which is being fuelled by strong winds and dry conditions.
