As per reports, the Galician Housing Platform (Plataforma Galega Vivenda Xa!) has scheduled a protest under the motto ‘Vigo polo dereito a teito’ in Vigo on Friday (30 October), starting at 1900 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) from the Urzáiz Lighthouse to demand the right to decent housing.
• Reports indicate that the demonstration is organized to voice outrage over the housing emergency, criticize the lack of public housing stock expansion by the Xunta de Galicia and the Council of Vigo, and protest against high prices in stressed areas.
• Participants are expected to march through key thoroughfares in the city, raising concerns regarding inadequate concrete actions from the Spanish Government and the Xunta de Galicia to address the housing crisis.
