As per reports, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory highlighting that the monsoon currents from Bay of Bengal are likely to bring heavy rainfall across several parts of the country, on Tuesday (06 August).
• he Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a report on the loss of lives and property due to rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the last two days, in which 15 people died and 20 were injured.
• According to the report, a total of 19 houses were completely damaged, while 54 were partially damaged in Chitral, Malakand, Dir Lower, North and South Waziristan, Tank and Kirk.
• Reportedly, all highways and link roads in the KP province have been opened for all types of traffic. Relief activities are ongoing in the rain-affected districts by PDMA and all related agencies.
• The Met Department has predicted intermittent rain in Lahore on Tuesday (06 August), with rainfall expected to continue over the next few days.
• Heavy monsoon rainfall has led to flood warnings in different regions of Balochistan, as the main rivers, including Nai Gaj, Bolan, Lehri, and Mola, were swollen with high floodwaters as their catchment areas.
• The NDMA Emergencies Operation Center has anticipated that a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF), Landslides and Flash Flood is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan due to increasing glacier melt.
• PMD has stated that rainfall/thunderstorm is expected in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, south/upper Punjab, upper Sindh, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast Punjab, and Pothohar region, on Tuesday (06 August).
