As per reports, updates on the Ukraine-Russia crisis as of Tuesday (26 August) are as follows:
• On Monday (25 August), Ukrainian forces reported 21 shelling incidents in the Donetsk Oblast within 24 hours, resulting in four civilian injuries.
• On Monday (25 August), Ukraine conducted drone attacks on a Russian gas terminal and the Kursk nuclear power plant.
• Ukraine reported the recapture of three villages (Mijailivka, Zelenyi Hai, Volodimirivka) in the eastern Donetsk region and Novomykhailivka.
• Russian forces conducted UAV attacks on the Sumy and Romenskoye communities.
• On Monday (25 August), multiple explosions were reported in Sumy, coinciding with an active air raid warning for the Sumy Region.
• Russian military sources indicated the capture of Filiya in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
• Overnight attacks by Russian forces caused at least two fatalities and 33 injuries across Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Kherson regions.
• On Monday (25 August), German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil arrived in Kyiv, and confirmed Berlin’s continued support to the Ukrainian cause.
• On Monday (25 August) Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that US and Ukrainian officials are expected to meet shortly to discuss preparations for a possible meeting with the Russian President.
• On Monday (25 August), US President indicated fruitful discussions with Russian President since the phone call regarding a possible meeting with the Ukrainian President on Monday (18 August). However, no meeting has been scheduled in Kyiv as of Tuesday (26 August).
