According to reports, the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is working round the clock to clear the landslide at 20th Mile along the Rangpo-Singtam stretch of National Highway (NH)-10.

Following are details:

• The landslide, triggered by incessant rainfall, has forced the diversion of traffic for more than two weeks. At present, light vehicles are being diverted via Duga under West Pandam constituency, while heavy vehicles are using the Rorathang-Pakyong route.
• Continuous heavy rainfall across the State has triggered landslides and mudslides at several locations, disrupting traffic movement on key roads, including NH-10.
• NHIDCL officials informed that more than 10 heavy machines, along with a large workforce, have been engaged at the site to remove debris. They added that the ongoing work is aimed at temporarily restoring traffic connectivity and that the road would be opened as soon as weather conditions permit.
