As per reports, the German Locomotive Drivers’ Union (GDL) went on strike on Tuesday (12 March) over wage negotiations. This strike action affected Deutsche Bahn (DB) trains and ÖBB connections.
• The sixth strike in the current collective bargaining dispute began at 0200 hours local time on Tuesday (12 March). As a result, numerous train connections ending in Salzburg are cancelled completely.
• The German locomotive drivers’ strike will last for 24 hours, and Deutsche Bahn’s local and long-distance trains will only run again from Wednesday (13 March) at 0200 hours local time.
• Meanwhile, the freight transport strike began on Monday (11 March) evening at 1800 hours local time. Freight traffic is expected to resume on Tuesday (12 March) at 1800 hours local time.
