As per reports, Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport experienced temporary flight restrictions resulting in significant disruptions to air traffic operations on Tuesday (09 December).
• A total of 17 flights were temporarily cancelled due to operational restrictions at Sheremetyevo Airport.
• An additional 16 flights were rerouted to alternate airfields during the restriction period.
• The “Carpet” signal (emergency aviation security protocol) was in effect at the airport from 1430 to 2100 hours local time (1730 to 0000 hours UTC).
• The airport emphasized that it continues to service incoming and outgoing flights for both Russian and foreign airlines, but all operations are subject to approval and restrictions.
