As per reports, updates on Syrian rebel attack as of Sunday (08 December), are as follows:

• Syria’s rebel forces have claimed that they entered Damascus and operatives are taking up key positions in the capital.
• The whereabouts of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad is currently unknown but Syria’s presidential office and Iranian officials maintain that he has not departed the capital. However, rebels have stated that Assad has fled the capital.
• Syrian rebels claim that they have taken control of the Saydnaya Military Prison north of Damascus.
• Syrian rebels are moving to capture state media offices in Damascus and clashes have been reported across the capital.
• Thousands of people have been gathering in cars and on foot in central Damascus to celebrate Assad’s departure.
