As per reports, updates on bushfire in parts of Sydney region including Malabar and Northern Beaches, as of Sunday (22 September) are as follows:
• As per the New South Wales (NSW) Rural Fire Service, as of 1530 hours, the fire is under control in Malabar region, and there is no immediate danger to the nearby residents.
• The fire had reignited near an equestrian centre in Sydney’s Malabar Headlands, after firefighters had previously worked to put out two blazes ignited on early Sunday (22 September) morning.
• Fire and Rescue team had received the alert of the fire near Malabar Headlands at about 1218 hours on Sunday (22 September), with reports that flames were encroaching on the South East Equestrian Club located at Anzac Rifle Range.
• Six trucks were deployed both to the equestrian club and to surrounding area to contain the fire.
• Firefighters were previously called into the site where they extinguished a small grass fire in the area at around 0200 hours, and again at about 1030 hours on Sunday (22 September).
• No budlings have been reportedly damaged by the fire.
