As per the latest bulletin by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Sunday (21 September), Super Typhoon Nando has intensified and is now classified as a super typhoon.
The eye of Super Typhoon Nando was located 535 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Nando is moving westward at 15 km/h.
• The Southwest Monsoon and the trough of Nando will bring strong to gale-force gusts over several regions:
Sunday (21 September): Metro Manila, Central Luzon (non-signal areas), CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
Monday (22 September): Metro Manila, Central Luzon (non-signal areas), CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
Tuesday (23 September): Metro Manila, Central Luzon (non-signal areas), CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Dinagat Islands.
• A Gale Warning is in effect over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon.
• Sea conditions are expected to worsen significantly:
Seas up to 14.0 m along Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
Seas up to 10.0 m along the northeastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan.
Seas up to 8.0 m along the remaining seaboards of Cagayan and the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte.
Seas up to 5.5 m along Isabela.
Seas up to 4.5 m along the northeastern seaboard of Aurora and remaining seaboard of Ilocos Norte.
• All sea travel is considered risky. Mariners are strongly advised to remain in port or seek shelter until conditions improve.
• Moderate to rough seas up to 3.0–3.5 m are expected in parts of Aurora, Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
• Moderate seas up to 2.5 m are expected along Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, and Northern Samar. Small craft operators should exercise extreme caution or avoid sailing.
• A high risk of life-threatening storm surge exceeding 3.0 m is expected in low-lying coastal areas of Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.
• Maximum sustained winds have reached 185 km/h near the center, with gusts up to 230 km/h.
