Update on student protest in Panjab University (PU) – Monday (10 November)

According to reports, the following are the details for the student-protest in Panjab University (PU) as of Monday (10 November):

• All roads leading to the university from Sectors 14, 25, and Madhya Marg have been placed under surveillance on Monday (10 November), while campus gates are being heavily guarded by over 2,000 personnel of the Chandigarh Police and reserve forces ahead of the call to protest made by several organisations and students political groups.
• Additional barricades and parked buses have been deployed to block most gates of the campus. While Gate No. 1 has been partially opened, all other entry points remain completely blocked. Residents inside the campus have also been advised to remain indoors.
• Several political leaders visited the ‘dharna’ (sit-in protest) site on Sunday (10 November). Among them were Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa, senior Congress leader Rana Gurjeet Singh, and various other members of parliament (MPs) and some farm union leaders.
