Update on Storm No 11 in Vietnam – Sunday (05 October)

According to reports, updates on Storm No 11 in Vietnam, as of Sunday (05 October), are as follows:

• The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting informed that at 0800 hours (local time) on Sunday (05 October), the eye of the storm was at about 20.2 degrees North latitude; 111.4 degrees East longitude, about 400km East Southeast of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh).
• From the afternoon of Sunday (05 October), winds have been increasing the sea area east of the Northern Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi special zone). From the evening of Sunday (05 October), the wind speed is expected to increase further in the Northern Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi special zone, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai and Hon Dau island) causing rough seas.
• Rising water and coastal flooding can be expected in coastal areas and islands in Quang Ninh-Hai Phong provinces. Moreover, the mainland coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Hung Yen and Lang Son province will witness strong winds on Monday (06 October).
