As per reports, Storm Conall brought strong winds, heavy rainfall, and significant disruptions, particularly in northern regions of the Netherlands as of Thursday (28 November).
• Code orange warnings have been issued by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI), with gusts reaching 130 kilometres per hour on the coast and up to 110 kilometres per hour inland.
• Code yellow alerts remain in effect for central provinces, where gusts of 80–100 kilomeres per hour are expected.
• Amsterdam Schiphol Airport cancelled 72 flights, and ferry services to the Wadden Sea islands are suspended as of Thursday (28 November). Traffic congestion and train service disruptions compounded the challenges, particularly during the evening rush hour.
• The N50 near Kampen is the road still closed in both directions. Due to the strong gusts of wind, it is not yet safe enough to recover the trailer that got stranded there due to the storm. The action will continue around midnight, but traffic was diverted via diversion route U40, the A6 and the N307. Currently in Groningen, code orange still in effect.
