As per reports, following are the latest updates on the protests across Gilgit Baltistan and other parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as of Wednesday (01 October):
• Several thousand people took part in sit-in protests in towns such as Rawalakot, Hajira, Abbaspur, Khai Gala, Paniola, and Trarkhel on Tuesday (30 September).
• Clashes between security personnel and protestors continued on Tuesday (30 September), with protestors overwhelming security forces in several areas. Video footage from unknown locations showed protestors toppling container trucks over a bridge, in defiance of authorities; the container trucks were deployed to halt a protest march.
• Video footage also showed protestors armed with sticks surrounding security personnel and parading them.
• Joint Public Action Committee leader Shaukat Nawaz Mir announced a protest march from several key towns and districts of PoK towards Muzaffarabad on Wednesday (01 October).
• Additionally, PoK diaspora in the United Kingdom staged demonstrations outside the Pakistan High Commission in London and the Pakistan Consulate in Bradford on Tuesday (30 September).
