As per reports, Polish prosecutors have charged two Russian nationals, identified under Polish privacy rules with participating in intelligence activities on behalf of Russian services and passing on information that could have damaged the Republic of Poland as of Monday (13 October)
• Prosecutors additionally allege that the Russian nationals, took part in a scheme to send a parcel containing explosive materials, including nitroglycerin and concealed military-grade electric detonators, through a courier service in July 2024.
• The authorities say the pair also provided information on Russian opposition activists and persons or organisations assisting them. These charges form part of a wider pattern of counter-intelligence activity and investigations by Polish security services into espionage and hybrid attacks reportedly originating from Russia since early 2022.
