Update on pro-Palestine protests across Italy on Saturday (04 October)

As per reports, following are the latest updates on pro-Palestine protests in Italy on Saturday (04 October):

• A pro-Palestine demonstration will take place in Rome, beginning at 1430 hours (local time). It will begin at Piazzale Ostiense and head towards Piazza di Porta San Giovanni, following a route along Via della Piramide Cestia, Piazza Albania, Viale Aventino, Piazza di Porta Capena, Via di San Gregorio, Via Celio Vibenna, Piazza del Colosseo, Via Labicana, and Via Merulana.
• The streets along the march will be closed to traffic until at least 1900 hours, subject to earlier reopening depending on the progress of the demonstration. 100,000 people are expected to participate, however authorities have ruled out that the numbers can be higher, in view of mass participation recorded at the Friday (03 October) marches.
• Law enforcement will be patrolling Termini and Tiburtina stations, and only those with a valid ticket will be allowed to enter.
• For the duration of the march, parking of all types of vehicles will be prohibited in Piazzale Ostiense, Viale della Piramide Cestia between Piazzale Albania and Porta San Paolo, and Via del Campo Boario from Porta San Paolo to Piazza Bottego. The same measures are in place in the area of ​​Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano, on Via Amba Aradam between Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano and Via dei Laterani, in the parking area in front of the Scala Santa, in Piazza di Porta San Giovanni, Via Fontana, and Via Carlo Felice. They also apply to Via Emanuele Filiberto between Piazza di Porta San Giovanni and Via Fontana, on Viale Marco Polo between Piazzale Ostiense and Via Belzoni, on Via di Porta Ardeatina, and finally on Viale delle Cave Ardeatine.
• Public transportation, including trains and buses, experienced significant delays, cancellations, and diversions, with Rome’s Termini Station reporting delays of up to 80 minutes.
• Additionally, from 1500-1730 hours, a rally will also be organised for missing persons. The rally will proceed from Emanuela Orlandi to Mirella Gregori. Starting from Viale Giulio Cesare at the corner of Via Marcantonio Colonna—near the Lepanto Metro station—a procession will reach Piazza Cavour, following Via Marcantonio Colonna and Via Cicerone.
• The rally will have an expected participation of approximately 300 people. During the demonstration, traffic will be closed to participants, including the bike path on Via Cicerone.
