As per reports, Pensioner groups, led by the Union of Retired Workers in Struggle (UTJEL), conducted another Wednesday march to the National Congress and the Casa Rosada to deliver a petition addressing pension and welfare concerns on Wednesday (19 November).
• The action was reportedly supported by unions, human rights organizations, neighborhood associations, student groups, and other social sectors.
• The petition reportedly requests a minimum pension of approximately ARS 1.2 to 1.25 million proportional increases across all pension tiers, bimonthly pension adjustments without caps, increased employer contributions, and age-based compensation for women from age 55 and men from age 60.
• Federal and City security forces reportedly deployed layered operational cordons around key government buildings.
• The mobilization coincided with a national strike organized by the State Workers’ Association (ATE), which reported high participation and opposed labor reform initiatives introduced by the national government.
• Union leaders reported that additional disruptions, including potential road interventions during upcoming holiday periods, may occur if reform plans proceed.
