As per reports, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of Northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron and Canton, due to an incoming winter storm expected to produce heavy snowfall between 0400 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) and 0900 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Tuesday (02 December).
• The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reportedly deployed crews on Monday (01 December) to pretreat major routes with salt brine to prevent snowfall from bonding to pavement and to support early melting when snowfall begins.
• ODOT reportedly plans to send out 250 trucks throughout the region during the storm, including 60 to 70 snowplows assigned to Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.
• Officials reportedly anticipate difficult travel conditions during Tuesday (02 December) morning rush hour due to combined system snow and lake-effect snow that is expected to intensify after the initial band moves through.
• The City of Cleveland has issued a snow emergency parking ban from 0000 hours local time (0500 hours UTC) on Tuesday (02 December) till 0000 hours local time (0500 hours UTC) on Wednesday (03 December) restricting parking on streets marked with red and white snowfall ban signage.
