As per reports, the update on New York City’s mayoral election as of 1500 hours (local time) on Tuesday (04 November) is the following:
• Polls opened at 0600 hours local time and are scheduled to remain open until 2100 hours (local time) across all five boroughs, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
• On Tuesday (04 November), several polling stations across New Jersey, including those in Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Passaic counties, received bomb threats that were later deemed unfounded.
• Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way confirmed there were no credible threats, adding that authorities were coordinating with state, local, and federal partners to ensure voter safety. Polling sites in some affected counties such as Bergen and Essex have reopened, while voters in others, including Mercer and Middlesex, were directed to alternate locations.
• Polls close at 2100 hours (local time), with preliminary results expected later in the evening.
• Voter turnout has been high, with approximately 1.2 million votes cast by noon (including early voting).
