As per reports, despite strict police restrictions, protests continue across Turkey against the imprisonment of opposition politician Ekrem İmamoğlu as of Friday (28 March).

• Hundreds of thousands of protesters in Turkey’s Istanbul took to the streets again, rallying against the government’s decision to imprison the city’s popular mayor.
• The mass demonstration on Saturday (29 March) was the latest in a wave of nationwide protests in parts of Turkey.
• Nearly 1,900 people have been detained since Wednesday (19 March). However, the police kept their distance at Saturday’s rally with no new arrests reported.
