As per reports, the latest situational updates in Manipur, as of Wednesday (19 February), are as follows:

• Security forces arrested one active cadre of the proscribed Peoples’ Liberation Army of Manipur (PLA-MP) and another person carrying unaccounted cash of more than INR 34 lakhs from Imphal East and Churachandpur districts respectively, police stated on Tuesday (18 February). The PLA cadre was apprehended from Khongman Mangjil in Imphal East district on Monday (17 February).
• In another operation, security forces arrested one person while checking at Sangai University located near Kaparang village in Churachandpur district, police stated. An amount of INR 34,20,000 in unaccounted cash was recovered among other things.
• Meanwhile, security forces recovered one automatic rifle with magazine, three country-made pull mechanism rifle, one single barrel bolt action rifle, one .32 pistol with magazine, one .22 pistol with magazine, one mortar and five mortar bombs from T Khullen village in Kangpokpi District on Monday (17 February), police stated.
• A combined team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles nabbed the Self Style Finance Secretary of the United National Kuki Army (UKNA) on Tuesday (18 February) at Churachandpur district. Acting on specific intelligence of the presence of cadres at the Kaprang area, Churachandpur District, Manipur, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police launched a cordon and search operation.
• The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) decided to call off a mass rally scheduled for Tuesday (18 February), following a request from the Central government. The rally was initially planned to address the ongoing ethnic crisis in the state and to demand the creation of a separate administration or Union Territory with its own legislature for the Kuki-Zo tribals. It was to be held across six districts in Manipur – Pherzawl, Tengnoupal, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Chandel.
